Title:
DownLoading a VFP .exe from a web page
Hi All,
I have been given a project to download a label printing app. from a web page (ColdFusion). I don't have to write the ColdFusion part but I have created a little VFP app that uses the .LBX format and a form that facilitates selecting an input .txt file. It than creates a .dbf on the fly and appends the selected .txt file into it. It (the.dbf) can then be browsed/edited/sorted/previewed and printed then deleted. Leaving no trace as to what actually produced the labels.
How can I package such an app to be downloaded from a web page? Wouldn't the .exe have to somehow install it's self - and again every time it was downloaded? Wouldn't the .exe would be fairly large, including the VFP support lib and all?
The alternative would be to use M$ Word label format and VBA/Excel, or even VB maybe. Any suggestions. TIA and have a nice day.
Regards,
Paige
