No. I haven't written any web apps so far, just traditional desktop and client server. However, I have done some experiementing XMLHTTP. It works well for transfering XML formatted data to your server side components, but you gotta create your XML packages with client side script.

I would start getting smart on the new SOAP protocol. You accomplish the same thing as above, but its supposed to be much easier. From looking at the examples in the SOAP toolkit, its gonna be as easy as calling a method locally.
