I think you're missing my point. You gave Nadya points for TRYING to help, not for helping. A police officer would give you a ticket if you went through a stop-sign-controlled intersection without stopping. He'd also give you the ticket if you did what they call a rolling stop <g> (what I'd call TRYING to stop). The point is, you'd get the ticket for the actual infraction regardless of how much trying was involved.

I think the MVP program is called Most Valuable Professional, not Most Verbose Professional. The people who spend the most time trying to help and in this case actually giving incorrect advice should not be rewarded, because it detracts from the validity of the point system.
