Both are shareware. wwipstuff is fully functional shareware. WebConnect sharewhare doesn't include the source code. Both are on a 30 day honor system.

I think these are both successful because they are backed up by a visible support site (the West Wind Message board), books and tons of articles.
wwXML and wwSoap are freeware.
