There are a lot of threads on this. Just search on PDF. The primary method seams to be using Adobe Acrobat (the full version) and a free PDF class on www.West-wind.com. There are also other less expensive alternatives. Everything seems to be coded for Acrobat 4.0, so don't get the brand new 5.0.
