I can't say why the "&" character would cause this. Quite frankly, I'm surprised that a COM error wasn't generated. What the WScript.Shell object's Run method expects to receive is either a program name or a file with an extension it can associate a program to. Bascially, if I remember your original post correctly, you were passing a variable name preceded by the ampersand enclosed in quotes. Exactly how this was being resolved, I don't know. Simply, plassing the variable, unless it contained a long file name, should have been sufficient to allow the Run method to properly execute.
