Hello friends,

Time taken to execute the below query when the code is a number field.
Select * from oramembers where code=1; Time taken 20 Sec

Time taken to execute the below query when the code is a varchar2 field.
Select * from oramembers where code='1'; Time taken less than 1 Sec

Total No. of Records: 200,000

Why such a difference .... Any sugesstion.
