I have tried to love FPA, I really have. I'll subscribe for a year and then let it lapse and then try it again months later. I really like FT and CoDe. And, yes, the VFUG newsletters are awesome -- Carl Warner, editor, doesn't always get the credit he deserves for putting that out and helping maintain the VFUG site.
