You're right. It must be a scoping problem. I didn't have this problem with forms that did not have pageframes. And I can't use SCATTER NAME mytable MEMO because my project/programming leader only wants me to use SCATTER MEMVAR MEMO command. I had SCATTER NAME in two of my forms and was asked to replace it with SCATTER MEMVAR MEMO. I have to work within those bounds on this project.

If SCATTER makes variables private, then I will make them PUBLIC so they are scoped to all the pageframes and not just the top pageframe. Then, I think GATHERing will work properly.
