This is untrue. Pot is illegal to buy, sell, possess and consume for recreational purposes. But people are rarely busted for personal possesion. If they are, it is usually to charge a known bad dude with something to harass him/her.

You can buy pot in hemp stores and hemp cafes. This is illegal, but once again you can do it and the stores are rarely harassed by the police.

The good news is that people with chronic illness or chronic pain can get a legal prescription (from a family doctor) for pot. Up the street from me a business that dispenses pot to people that have these prescriptions.
