Kevin,
I still haven't identified the problem, but discovered something unusual that "might" have something to do with it.

What's the point of passing a parameter to the cpreferenceform if you ignore it and always set lautocall true?

* MODIFIED 05/03/99 - KJM
* Added a new tlAutoCall parameter that specifies if
* the form was called automatically (not manually by
* the user)

LPARAMETERS tlAutoCall
ThisForm.lAutoCall = .T.

I haven't determined where lAutoCall is being referenced yet...

What I've discovered so far:

The preference form is failing to init, but I still can't determine why. The error message "file does not exist" doesn't appear until AFTER the gapp.do() call. I suspect the error message is an indirect result of the failure of the preference form to instantiate. I've looked through the inheritance chain (5 levels!) and can't find where any other form's init is returning false. Any ideas?
