OK, now that I've vented my spleen..

It still should be able to be done.

I'm curious about the pageframe problem, though.

I would think that you would need to bind the controls to the table, not the memvars.
Perform the scatter when the record pointer moves (in your navigation, load/init, etc.)
If the record has changed (w/o buffering, this does become more difficult to be accurate, but...), and they want to cancel, then do the GATHER.

The pageframe issue could be that when you refresh the form, only the active page of the pageframe gets refreshed (I guess for performance reasons).
You may need to refresh each page individually.
