Roxanne,

I won't answer all your questions as I have no experience related to Data warehouses, but I'm using xCase with apps counting 30-40 tables and can give some advice.

>My xCase related Questions-
>1.) Does grouping my tables into the above categories make sense to anybody other than me? Maybe I've gone over the edge... as in I'm reaching the point where I'm "over-designing". :)

Any grouping is good as far as it suits you and your customer. The key to your problem is in using multiple diagrams in xCase, one for each group. Everything still fits into one model but your diagrams are easier to understand.

I have similar groupings (system tables, lookups, data ) but also make groupings by function/department for example marketing, manufacturing, quality assurance. Some tables appear in multiple diagrams. These diagrams are useful for discussions with the client.

>2.) Can I setup each of my Table Categories as a separate model in xCase to make the user interface easier to deal with? Would this be a wise approach? If so will I still be able to Forward Engineer everything into one VFP DBC?

It think it is better to keep everything in one model, especially if you want to make a single DBC out of it

hoping this helps
