>>Going back to FPA, I sense that it is in a no-win situation. On one hand, you can find people to write good/relevant content. On the other hand, the magazine is too small to accomomodate the content the market it service requires. And if the page count goes down any more, the task gets harder. That said, the 2/2001 issue proves that good/relevant content can be published in FPA. Perhaps they don't get enough submissions????<<
What I see is a mag that is getting smaller, while the price keeps getting higher, with more and more "content" being off-loaded to extra cost CDs and Diskettes with the "printed content" often being little more than "teasers" to get one to shell out for the supplementary media.
That pretty well goes for all Advisor pubs. I remember dBased Advisor; the precursor to all these specialty mags. Now Advisors Pubs spends most of their time spinning-off a flavor of the month.
Comparing _other_ mags to _any_ Advisor mag is apples and oranges.
