If you know someone who uses the Visual MaxFrame framework, there's a VCX/SCX "hacking tool" that comes with it which will allow you to mess with those references.

If you don't have access to that, let me know privately and I'll try to dredge up an old attempt to do the same function that I wrote several years ago.
