The BrowseForFolder method's first parameter represents the window handle of the caller. While it must be passed (it's not optional), it can be 0.
In case you're interested, I wrote an article that appeared in last July's VFUG newsletter on the Shell.Application object. While I only mention this method in passing (I do give examples of other methods), I do mention that the documentation is available in the MSDN Library in the Shellcc.chm file.
