Hi Doug,

>>>>It did not come in any of the MSDN pro packages I have recieved.
>>>
>>>If the MSDN website is any indication, Microsoft will be shipping Visual FoxPro BETA 2 on or around June 6, as VFP7 has not yet been released to manufacturing (this means the final version will not make the Amazon.com, shipping date.)
>>>
>>>The MSDN subscriber download section does not even discuss a projected delivery date for the final version, and it is usually available to subscriber download a month or so prior to it being shipped in the MSDN shipmetns, which again, is about a month ahead of retail availability.
>>>
>>>What all this means is, like the final Survivor announcement, the NDA's are working quite well, and no one is even hinting about a June 2001 delivery, (or even September for that matter)
>>
>>Hmmmm. I wonder if it will be released BEFORE VS.NET???
>
>I'd think so. VS.NET still seems quite a ways down thre road and all the rumblings I've heard here on the UT would indicate a June release for VFP7. For example, VooDoo is apparently going to be unveiled in June but we've specifically been told that it cannot (for legal reasons) be released before VFP7. 2 + 2 still equals 4. <g>
Yes, I tend to see it that way too. But the "established patterns" described suggested that later was a distinct possibility.
Having heard what I've heard so far, I am very anxious to get my hands on the new version. On the other hand, the last thing I want is for it to be released before it is ready, always hoping that it is more 'ready' than 6.0 turned out to be. In fact I feel that a repeat of 6.0 would be very bad for VFP's future.
Regards,
JimN
