Download Steven Black's public domain MsgSvc from http://stevenblack.com/SBCPublicDomain.asp. You can create all kinds of forms with it to emulate things like Messagebox and Wait windows.

I haven't used the REPORT FORM ... IN WINDOW window name but I am guessing you could use it to previwe in another Desktop window.
