Is it required that the DOCs be edited rather than created? It seems it would be simpler to just move the document content inside VFP, and then use variabies or field values to supply the independent data. Rather than edit an existing templare, maintain a "base" template inside VFP, and (re) create the document every time you need to. But if you require an edit it would be easier to understand what your your trying to do by breaking it down into pieces. Give us a sample of the Word text you need to work. And give us an idea of what you want the result to be.

To edit, you might buffer the selection (range) to a VFP string and then STUFF or STRTRAN to modify and re-insert.
