You can close document with some options to do nto save it (or even do not prompt).
Far ago it was a big problem for me too, because these messageboxes in the Word spoil the automated services that generate documents in my application, so they hang up. We read a lot about each function in the Help for Word automation objects, and did this using special parameters, options etc. for Word. Now it works, but still not reliable...
