The memory may help some, but remember you are dealing with
the volume of traffic U are sending over the wire. This is
a very big problem when accessing large DBFs. My client
asked us to write a brief white paper on remote
connectivity. We used Close-Up, PC Anywhere and RAS. In
all of our bench marks RAS under Win95 was the best solution.
Now, there are other alternatives available for remote node
computing. Shiva net modems are known for there speed. I
also remember a company Attachmate and a product called
RLN which claimed to be the fastest thing on earth.
