Hi!

When you specify a full path t the database in the 'SET DATABASE TO ...' command, database is selected by its path, not by its alias name. This way you can work with the databases that have the same name, but just located in different places. That is why adatabases() return 2 values for each database - the name and the full pathname.

HTH.

In this case I can have what appears to be the same dbc opened multiple times but actually have different paths. Myself I would of avoided setting up data structures this way but I had no control on this part of the design.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
