I have done quite a bit of work with Mysql, getting it run quite well as a back end to VFP, using basically sqlexec. SPT stuff. and my reason for looking at interbase, it seems that the sql language is quite a bit more mature, where subquries, and transactions, would be supported. however, so far, the ODBC drivers I have found for Interbase, are all charged, nothing free. (that works yet) a few people have limited time demos of odbc drivers, and a few people have free ones in Very Beta stages, so it appears, that for me to get into it, I would need to at least invest in odbc drivers.
Also, at least the front end tools I have found have not been as good as myfront, in Mysql. So I guess for now, Ill stick with Mysql, and just work out the limitations therein.

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
