I did try this and it didn't seem to help our situation.

From the VFP command line, I typed the following:

set printer off
set printer to name getprinter()
set printer on
??? " " && after typing this line and hitting enter, I got a blank page
? "line 1"
??? (ctrl codes) && no problem here because the page eject occured on the first ???
? "line 2"
set printer off
set printer to


??? " " seemed to do nothing different from what any other ??? was doing.
