I think Craig's referring to the code page dialog that'll appear. However, SET CPDIALOG OFF (I think that's it) and you can use it exclusively. I don't think, however, that any structural changes occur if you were to pack a 2.x table in VFP. I have a 6.0 application that does this, and don't have any problems on the 2.6 side.
