Yes the speaker's response to my question was negative, but I personally didnt put a lot of faith in his confidence level. It seemed to me that I hit him with a question he never thought of.

If I didnt have so much needing my attention right now, I'd be searching for either an alternate ActiveX Status Bar Control (hey there's more than calendar. etc. out there). Or maybe (somebody smack me for this) it would be possible to use VB 5 to modify the control shown at DevCon?
