Remember how Ashton Tate treated third party providers? If you wanted to provide an add on to dBase, you had to be licensed by Ashton Tate, which required a fee of about $1200 per year as I recall. You then were allowed to sell your product, and if it was any good, Ashton Tate would incorporate your product in “the next offering” of their product, and you got nothing in return. This put the third party provider out of business – who needs refox? Just another way of doing business!
