yeah this is exactly how I would expect it to work from a logical point of view. However, with my version for sure it doesn't work like that. And as how Fernando says : look at the Help, it promises the unlogic (I expect the same help in VFP6 SP4, or ?).
So I expect them to have made this behaviour more logic, but forgot to adjust the Help ? seems dangerous, because it's not so much of upwards-compatibility.

Here it really works like :
no matter what you do or try, always the deleted records come with it, and always they appear as not deleted in the appened file. To me this is a bug, but the Help says it's not. But yeah, we make this kinda help ourselves sometimes when things are too difficult to solve ...
