They are formatting commands. What they do is prevent the column headers from being displayed [written to the script file] and from the # of selected records to be displayed at the end. You can leave those alone and see what difference it makes in the resulting script file. When you run a script, SQL Plus will give you an error when it tries to execute the header line or feedback line.
