I just have Hacker's Guide for VFP3, too, and the only thing I found on it, was at "Perform an APPENDectomy at Home" (pages 96-97). Since it deals with APPEND FROM ... FOR ..., seemed to me that the stated behavior, somehow conforms with the current VFP6 help file.

I've to buy the VFP6 book version to have more updated information (by the way, there will be a Hacker's Guide for VFP7?).
