Yeah, I've heard that too. But I find it very unlikly because of the amount of loss that was suffered. They could have, had they really known done several things that would have minimized the loss of the fleet and planes and people and still given the people plenty of reason to support getting involved. I don't think we were smart enough to know what they had planned and I know we would have pulled some of those ships out of the area because we were really in no shape to do anything after the attack. Political suicide if anyone ever found out that officials had known. Too Big of risk. Besides we were the biggest baddest country on earth. Japan could never have done anything of substance to us, now could they? Arrogance,Arrogance,Arrogance!
