I have tryed Alter table but it has to have the table exclusive. I can not open the file exclusive because we have telemarkers that are using the file all the time.

Just curious is there something in the settings of FoxPro any version (the program is in 6.0 and the tables are 2.6-- not my doing) that will allow the tables to accept null values?
