You may want to invesigate a Linux program called WINE. A windows emulator.
Some WinXX programs can be run by using "WINE your.exe"
WINE is at:
http://www.winehq.com
but it has been included in every version of every Linux distro I've seen and/or used. Be aware the it is constantly being improved. New compiles occur weekly. Also, today's version may run your program but tomorrow's may not. If the version of WINE you use works then you can bundle it with your software. It is GPL, but since you are not modifying it you are pretty much free to do what ever you want. But, if you encorporate WINE code into your project then the GPL comes into effect. In many ways trying to make WINE run all version of apps is sort of like IBM trying to make OS/2 run Win3.1x every time Bill Gates tweeked another dll to defeat it. In otherwords, WinXX is evolving faster than WINE coders can reverse engineer it to figure out how to make WINE work.
