Doug, Fred, Alex, David etc.

It only took us 3 hours to get the majority of the program running under VFP6. Clunky screens? They sure are. But the entire company has been running this program on UNIX so long that my friend swears they wouldn't recognize a screen that had more than 25 X 80 characters < grin > Most of the code had 1991 dates on the files.

The biggest problem? UNIX has different key codes for PgUp, PgDn etc., so none of the lists worked correctly.

Many thanks for your advice all of you.

>Fred, David et al have given you the gist of what you're going to run in to. My biggest issue was having to revert my thinking back to the place where there were fewer commands. One that comes to mind is ALLTRIM(). Doesn't exist in FPU. So, you have to use LTRIM(RTRIM()) which will work.

>Question: When you say 'convert' do you mean to VFP? If so you (and your client) will find that you will end up with screens that look very clunky running under Windows. They'll work, but I'd be willing to bet that you'll do at least a rewrite of the forms at some point. <g>
