My users are complaining that if they enter an invalid date in a textbox and then try to save the form by clicking on the toolbar button without leaving the field, the record is saved with an empty date. What's the best way to keep them in the field and warn them of the invalid date entry?

In my opinion, the best thing to do is to only use a pop-up calendar for date entry. This solves improper entry format and takes care of the different ways to enter dates (mm/dd/yy vs dd/mm/yy).

There should be a couple of good examples in the files section without resorting to activeX controls (unless you want to use activeX of course)
