I have been using the one of the beta's for testing for months now. VFP 7 and this is just my opinion... while it has some nice added features. its not going to change your app overnight. As far as I can tell, you wont need to change anything to make 99.9 of apps work, running on 7 vs 6 .. its just as seemlesss as 5 - 6 was. What do you do get is some really nice programer friendly functions like intellsense.... few new features in the dbc like database events. hot tracking option for many of your screen related controls...Sort of webish look if you want to buttons etc.. and object browser. and xml converter, data to and from xml.(which may or may not be something you need right now)... but the smart money is saying you will need it very soon.

There is more, but these are the things I can think of off the top of my
head.
Assure your management, that the big BIG BIG change for fox took place back when 2.6 was converted to 3.0 these newer updates ,5- 6 - 7 as far as I can tell, have not required much coding changes to the applications. only newer features have been added.

Management does not seem keen on letting me convert my current production app to VFP 7.00 as soon as possible.

>In the past this attitude from management resulted in a huge application being delivered in FPW 2.6 at a time when everybody else had already switched to VFP. This app of course will need re-writing very soon at considerable expense.

>I am keen to save them from this fate happening to them again and need the ammunition to prove to them that they must move with the times.

>Please help me by providing examples of where I will see a rapid improvement in development times over using VFP 6.00.

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
