Jeff,

You are no doubt correct for many.

For many others of us, their (MS') words that being out of the box would let them market to VFP's strengths along with a promise for more marketing (and more than a smidgen doesn't take much) in that case, has been cause to keep us at the "anger" stage.

Charlie's question was particularly timely given that VFP 7.0 is due for release some time in JUNE. There's typically, in a normally marketed product, at least a tad of hype immediately prior to a fresh release.
Given that VFP IS out of the box and has hardly been marketed before, it is particularly apt to get on with it.

In fact I think tha appropriate slogan for the campaign would be exactly... Our biggest secret is now out of the box. . . followed by a large logo and a nice long list of everythingthat VFP is. The opening would give us long-time admerents a little something to snicker at, a la 'nudge nudge wink wink'.

>You are forgetting the classic stages of acceptance. If I remember correctly, they are: denial - fear - anger - acceptance. With MS, it becomes: denial - fear - anger - acceptance - disgust.

>>This seems to have become your mantra of late. A more accurate statement would be that nobody in the VFP community is satisfied with Microsoft's marketing. The very fact that Charlie needed to ask that question speaks volumes.
