>>I have a timeclock app as part of my system. It works great except that, as anyone knows, the clock on a PC is about as reliable as... well you know. Does anyone know of an external or internal clock for a PC that keeps good date and time? I know the old Hays modems had a clock version that plugged into the serial port. I just need the clock with date and time. The PC does the checkin/out with a scanner. I don't want to use an internet app because the PC may not have internet access.

assuming the timeclock app is running on a network, there are ways to pin that computers clock to the servers ... really if the IT dept isn't going to ensure that the severs time is accurate, why should you care if other comupters are accurate.
