What is happening that Windows itself is crashing? What kind of errors? This IS what your real problem... I don't know of anything that can prevent your CDX from corrupting if the application system is shut down in the middle of the app. There are ways to error trap for the CDX problem and automaticaly handle reindexing, but these are all very tenuous in a multiuser environment.
