I made it a policy to put my files below the .exe on my systems, so the data is in data/dbs's, etc! SO when I use a network, a single local table holds the network path and once again all the tables are in (network path)+ data/dbf's
Thus one 'set default to network path' solves all the issues, if network path is empty, it works locally!
I also found out that for debugging, I have to put copies of my .prg's with the .exe in order to step ! That one I don't quite understand!
As you say, hard coding works best! FOR some reason, ( fatigue? ) , I frequently find copies of tables in the program directory, without hard coding that path, Fox would use the program directory copy rather than the correct one!
