The warning, that is on the apache, is useless. I have been running apache for 2 years now. Runs like champ. the warning, is saying in essence, that the windows version of apache server is not on the fastest track for development as the linux or unix versions. But consdering that over 60% of all web servers in the world run apache, (mostly on Unix - Linux) the windows version is not all that far behind...
Seriously, I like I said, I have been running apache for windows for 2 years now. and yet to have apache crash. Sure some of my cgi scripts crash. and I cause it the scritps to crash. But never the web server. That just keeps running like the everyready bunny.

But why not run PWS ? it sets up in a flash. free. the only limit I know about it is numer of concurent users. But for testing. It works great.

>For testing I used OmniHTTPd, a web server that runs on Windows 95/98 and NT. Visit its web site for more info: http://www.omnicron.ca/httpd/index.html

>>Can anybody tell me of a good (simple) web server that can run on a Windows98 machine and one that will run on WindowsNT4. I have the APACHE web server but don't want to install it on the 98 due to the warning. It does say that it will run on the NT but I would like to run the same server on both systems. I know there is allways the option of going UNIX or Linux for a server OS but I am wanting to stick with Windows. I need this for testing my SQL,VFP & COM apps.

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
