If I change my STRICTDATE setting to 0, yes, I can plow through with damn near any bunch of numbers. Why does this dialog NOT WORK as per the help files? Why can I not enter a date such as {^2001-01-01} and not get an ambiguous date error? I think this is a bug - not a big deal, but a pain at the moment.
As Fred Taylor explained in his message (Strictdate thread), the date converts back to character, that's the problem :( You can't type it in view designer. All you can do is define variable and assign it to the date.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
