It is just the way we colonist in the Americas spell things, when attempting to use the English Language. Something gets lost with all those miles of salt water between us. In fact we get really off track with lift (elevator) and lowery (truck) - the list goes on. Perhaps we should have our own language rather than destroy the "Queens own".
