>>>Too true - now I learned on VolksWriter - came on a single sided 5.2" disk, the manual was half the size of a TV Guide and it wrote great letters and other documents. Then Word Perfect and MSWord. (Skipped WordStar by more luck than good sense).

>Hmmm... for the life of me, I can't remember the name of my first word processor. It was from IBM and probably shipped with the PCjr. Anyone? I ended up working with WordStar (ugh!) and AmiPro, which I loved. Eventually, like everyone else, I was forced to use MS Word by the corporate entities, but it's not so bad.

It just came to me this morning. The IBM PCjr came with Easywriter! I used it at college to write my term papers. I used to collect different editors and word processors. I even registered my copy of PC-Write. There was another word processor that I liked called Ann Arbor or at least the company was called that and of course they where based in that town.

I still miss my Qedit because I could highlight a column of text. I guess with Windows it is harder to code such a feature.
