Which takes precedence over the other?

I have a FaxPlus OLE control in my form. Do OLE control settings/properties override Windows 98 Modem settings/properties in the Windows 98 Control Panel?

I used Microsoft Fax and successfully faxed from my PC to my fax machine without a problem, but when I do the same test using FaxPlus OLE control in my form it takes 7 or more modem inits/redials before successfully connecting without a timeout. Microsoft Fax connects on the first init/dial.

This allowed me to focus my troubleshooting to FaxPlus since I was able to rule out Windows 98 modem settings/properties, multiple telephone devices sharing the same line, telephone line noise, the modem itself, etc.

Another fax modem question:
When I use any kind of OLE faxing control, do I have to Init the fax modem before each time I redial or can I Init the fax modem one time when the form loads/inits and dial and send to multiple destinations as many faxes as I have in the queue before I reInit the fax modem? And on the shutdown side, I believe I can wait until all faxes are sent before I do the fax modem shutdown? What do you think?

Thanks for the info. I am hoping to solve this timeout problem within the FaxPlus software by changing a property/setting. Most of these questions are sort of generic and apply to most fax modem apps I think.
