Duties: Responsible for analyzing functional applications and design specifications for functional areas. Develops block diagrams and logic flow charts, translates detailed design into computer software. Tests, debugs and refines computer software to produce the required product. Prepares required documentation, including both program level and user level documentation. Enhances software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency. The senior programmer may supervise a staff of programmers in support of the application development.
Qualifications:
Must have experience with C++, Voice Activation Software, and Palm OS.
Shall have a BS Degree in CS, MIS, Math or a related quantitative field or practical equivalency of 4 years hands-on experience using high level programming languages in on line applications using relational DBMS.
Shall also have 5 yrs experience designing and programming on-line multi-CPU network management information systems utilizing high level programming languages and object oriented technology, in a relational DBMS environment. This is in addition to the practical equivalency. Shall have, within the general experience requirement, 1 yr experience programming using UNIX, MS-DOS, or current Windows operating system and 1 yr experience supervising a team of programmers. Shall have, in addition to the general experience requirement, 1yr experience in GUI screens and object-based programming in a client server architecture utilizing RDBMS technology. Specific experience may be concurrent unless it is an addition to the general requirement.
