The hyperlink class combines a hyperlink baseclass with a label for presentation. You are using a label in the other scenario so the only addition is the hyperlink and it is one of the smallest VFP classes (in terms of memory footprint).
In any event, they both launch the browser so I'm not sure that either one takes appreciably more resources. However, the benefit to the hyperlink approach is that it works if the user uses another browser instead of IE. You may not be in this type of environment but then again, you might.
