>No, I'm not into VB at all.

I'm not either, actually.

I agree it's a good strategy to be bringing VFP to the attention of the VB world, and I see that you did a fine job of that in your Guest Opinion for VBPJ on 12/2000 (http://www.vbpj.com/upload/free/features/vbpj/2000/12dec00/go0012/go0012.asp). It wasn't exactly a pitch for VFP, but any mention of FoxPro before that audience is the best marketing we've seen in long time.

Right. I think I was touching on the idea that within this circle, we're the converted, but it doesn't actually get us anywhere toward just having more name recognition. It's part tooting our own horns...a lot people don't have any idea VFP is a great web app development tool. We've gotten trapped in silly contests like string handling, but that kinda of misses the point.

I'm actually thinking about this from what I see _my_ responsibility as a developer who wants more people to know about our great community and tool. I'm not any crazier than the average bear about getting up in front of a group and telling them about what I do and how I do it, but, heck I figure it won't kill me? Now I just have to get out there and do it, eh?

But, we all do some amazing projects. It was interesting to talk to people at DEVCON from all over the world about their projects. There's valuable information there that's implementation non-specific.

Anyway, I want to encourage you as a way of encouraging myself to get out there and be visible. Try to write an article for MSDN magazine maybe, for example.
