Hi!

What the problems you refer to? Redrawing of forms should not be a problem (WM_PAINT events). Timer events should not be a problem too, until you have quite complex logic there. Keys pressed should work as soon as possible for ON KEY LABEL, ON SHUTDOWN and ON ESCAPE functionality. From logical point of view this is all correct.

I also wondered why you use INKEY().

>Has anyone experienced problems with the above function/setting. Setting _VFP.AUTOYIELD to false stops event processing until until _VFP.AUTOYIELD is set back to true. Issuing DOEVENTS executes the queue of events. In this instance we are not interested in the queue of events. So we do not issue DOEVENTS. This appears to cause problems later when issuing INKEY() to respond to user input.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
