It dos not depend on how I run it :
- do ...prg from VFP command window
- do ...exe from VFP command window
- RUN ...exe from VFP command window
- RUN ...exe from Windows Run Prompt
- click on ..exe in Windows Explorer

Alsio it does not depend on ehat printer do I choose: network or local, HP, Okidata, Generic, PostScript, ...
This moment I have original VFP (1998) on Windows NT.

If I run the commands from the command window, they work fine. HOWEVER, when run from within an EXE, the second instance of SET("PRINTER",3) doesnt. I don't want SET("PRINTER",2) which returns the WINDOWS printer, not the VFP printer. I don't want to override the users Windows printer for anything else they may be running at the time.

If you ARE getting the correct value when running from within an EXE (outside the VFP environment, must be from a shortcut directly to the exe, not DO MyEXE from within VFP), what version service pack do you have loaded.
